Impact & Sustainability

At Seed, we’re dedicated to growing businesses with a focus on good. Understanding the urgency of environmental and social responsibilities, we’re committed to enhancing sustainability not just within our company but also among the businesses we collaborate with.

Becoming a B Corpâ„¢ in 2023 was a significant milestone, reinforcing our belief that businesses must go beyond profit. This year, we focused on aligning every action with our values, from how we treat our team to the work we take on. We aim to create positive change in our business and the communities we touch.

Our people remain at the core of Seed.

We’ve prioritised job security and career growth and expanded our Seed Academy apprenticeship programme. We’ve cultivated a supportive, high-performing workplace by refining mentorship and progression. This commitment has solidified our position as one of the top agencies for which to work.

Sustainability remains just as vital.

We continued donating to charity, supported over 50 organisations, and held events like the Seed Charity Volleyball Tournament. Our community involvement extends beyond the agency, making a real impact.

Looking ahead, we’re committed to ongoing progress.

With evolving B Corp standards, we’re strengthening our impact on social engagement, sustainability, and transparency. Financially, we remain strong, ensuring continued investment in our team and causes.

Being a B Corp is not just about meeting criteria but embracing constant improvement. We believe success and purpose go hand in hand, and we’re excited for another year of learning, growth, and driving marketing as a force for good.

Impact Report

Our first full year as a certified B Corp™ has been transformative and insightful. As part of our commitment to transparency, we’re excited to share our annual Impact Report. Being a forward-thinking business means holding ourselves accountable, not just for our successes, but also for the challenges and lessons. By openly sharing our progress, we aim to build trust, drive meaningful change, and continue to improve.

Our Actions

Partnerships for Sustainability

We continue our collaboration with Mossy Earth, planting over 500 trees and supporting 22 rewilding projects. In 2024, we supported rewilding efforts that included reforesting Scotland, restoring wetlands in Slovakia, and rewilding a former mining site in Portugal. This ongoing commitment helps restore ecosystems and tackle climate change. Find out more or join the cause here.

Charity Fundraising Events

In 2024, we proudly hosted our annual charity beach volleyball tournament, raising over £5,000 for Off the Fence, a charity supporting disadvantaged communities in Brighton & Hove. Additionally, our community-driven bake sale raised £400 for Safehaven Women, a local Brighton charity dedicated to helping vulnerable women.

Community Engagement

Our environmental efforts continue to make a positive impact:

  • Turned coffee waste into 130 coffee logs.
  • Recycled 1,421 kg of mixed materials.
  • Achieved a 96% recycling rate, as measured by Recorra.
  • Hit the beach for clean-ups to support the Million Mile Clean, an initiative from Surfers Against Sewage.
  • Planted 160 metres of native hedgerow to enhance local biodiversity.
  • Saved 1.25 tonnes of CO2 through our office recycling initiative – equivalent to 145,000 smartphone charges.
  • Created and shared 42 info-memes to raise awareness of recycling and environmental practices.

These initiatives not only reduce our carbon footprint but also foster a culture of environmental stewardship within our team and community.

Charitable Support

This year, we contributed £10,062.34 to charitable causes, including donations to the Movember, Andy’s Man Club, Off the Fence, Motor Neurone Disease Association, The Alzheimer’s Society, Raystede, Target Ovarian Cancer, Mind, and other impactful organisations. These contributions reflect our commitment to social welfare and making a positive difference.

Community Support Initiatives

Our team continues to support local causes by packing Christmas hampers for families in need and assisting local food banks and shelters. Lauren & Beth visit Safehaven Women every Thursday to share meals, stories, chats and activities with community members.
